Generations Behavioral Health – Youngstown is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life in our community by providing mental health and substance abuse services. We believe that environment plays a large role in the recovery and healing process, so we do our best to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
We know that psychiatric illness affects not only the individual but also the entire family, which is why our compassionate and experienced staff values a comprehensive approach to treatment and recovery, including loved ones in patient care, as appropriate. Evidence-based treatments and therapies are customized for each individual to ensure recovery.
The inpatient programs at Generations Behavioral Health provide care for adults over 18 years of age. There are three specific units:
- Geriatric Unit – 22 beds for patients 50 and older
- Adult Unit – 28 beds for patients 18 to 55
- Dual Diagnosis Unit – 28 beds for patients 18 and older
A structured schedule, which includes group and individual therapy, focuses on reducing the severity of patient symptoms and building skills to enhance recovery. Each day is carefully planned for goal-setting, treatment, recreation and expressive arts therapy, and self-reflection. Examples of programming models that will be implemented are Montessori-based Therapy, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Multi-sensory Room, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Patients meeting admission criteria are accepted seven days a week upon acceptance by the psychiatrist. To begin the process, please call 234-232-7459.
